LOCAL TOWNS
Ringwood (4 miles away) has a popular market every Wednesday, where you can buy local produce. There is also Waitrose and Sainsburys.. Close to Ringwood is the Raptor and Reptile Centre and an excellent leisure centre. You could also visit the Ringwood Brewery.
Fordingbridge (3.5 miles away) has a very attractive park on the banks of the River Avon. The park offers a play area for children and plenty of ducks to feed. Near to Fordingbridge are the Rockbourne Roman Villa, Braemore House & Countryside Museum and the New Forest Water Park.
You can hire a bike and even get it delivered direct to your cottage from Forest Leisure Cycling.
Pony trekking is a great way to experience the New Forest as is offered by many local riding stables.
Try a spot of fishing in the the Avon Valley and visit Avon Angling Centre for fishing tackle and advice.
